Most Visited Places in Central Bohemia in 2023

In 2023, the most visited tourist destination in Central Bohemia was the Aquapalace Prague water park in Čestlice, which attracted over 1.1 million visitors. The Mirakulum amusement park in Milovice secured second place, with more than 320,000 visitors. In third place was the pilgrimage site of Svatá Hora in Příbram, which welcomed 310,000 visitors and made its first appearance in the top ten. The Škoda Museum in Mladá Boleslav also made a significant leap, ranking sixth with a 241% year-on-year increase. The ranking, published by CzechTourism in June, was also topped by Kutná Hora.

Last year, interest in entertainment destinations, castles, and religious sites grew in Central Bohemia. The most visited areas included Posázaví, Kutnohorsko and Kolínsko, and the Pojizeří and Polabí regions. As in 2022, Aquapalace Prague in Čestlice ranked first in the region and 4th nationally, with a 14% increase in visitors. The popularity of water parks was reflected by Beroun and Příbram aquaparks, both in the region’s top 10.

The region’s diverse offerings continue to attract more visitors, who know they can find a mix of historical landmarks, royal towns, and natural beauty. Whether it’s for sightseeing, relaxation, or adventure, Central Bohemia has something for everyone.” said Jakub Kulhánek, Director of the Central Bohemia Tourist Board.

Mirakulum Park in Milovice came second with 320,000 visitors, while Kutná Hora’s Sedlec area and St. Barbara’s Church secured 4th and 5th places. Sedlec was also ranked 29th nationally, and St. Barbara’s Church was 39th.

Central Bohemia also excelled in national rankings across multiple categories. Svatá Hora, Sedlec, and St. Barbara’s Church ranked among the most visited religious sites. The region also stood out in military tourism, with the Military Technical Museum in Lešany, as well as in castle and personal history categories, with notable sites like Loučeň Castle and the T.G. Masaryk Museum in Lány. Additionally, the Kouřim and Vysoký Chlumec open-air museums highlighted the region’s rich folk architecture.
