The Central Bohemia Tourist Information Center has unveiled its exciting new look

The Tourist Information Centre of the Central Bohemia Tourist Board, which opened in 2017, has recently been renovated to modernize its space and introduce a new selection of regional products. The grand reopening was attended by representatives from the tourist board, Central Bohemia, and other distinguished guests.

The Tourist Information Centre of the Central Bohemia Region, located at Husova 156/21 in Prague’s Old Town, resides in the historic corner buildings of U Zlatého jablka and U Zlaté slámy, dating back to around 1730. For seven years, this prime spot on the Royal Route has been offering visitors information about regional attractions, events, transport, as well as brochures, maps, and souvenirs. It also sells the Prague Visitor Pass, Prague CoolPass, and offers ticket sales via TicketLive. The centre is a member of the Association of Tourist Information Centres and holds certification under the Unified Classification of TIC Czech Republic. In 2023 alone, it welcomed 25,000 international and 6,000 domestic visitors.

The recent renovation aimed to expand the space and enhance the interior, improving both the presentation of the region and the sale of local products. “This investment allows us to show the true face of our region – a modern, vibrant place, shaped by the talents and determination of its people, making Central Bohemia a unique destination,” said Petra Pecková, the governor, at the grand opening.

With an investment of 4.9 million CZK, the Central Bohemia Region has modernized the centre, creating an inviting space that supports local businesses by offering a range of regional products, such as wines, honey, herbal teas, chocolates, jams, and glassware. “The new space will attract even more visitors, giving them a chance to experience the rich diversity of our region,” added Václav Švenda, the regional councilor for culture and tourism.

Situated in a protected historical building, the renovation was carried out with sensitivity to preserve features like vaulted ceilings and frescoes. The updated layout includes a modern display window, and the furniture design showcases the building’s unique architecture.

The Tourist Information Centre is open daily from 10 AM to 6 PM, with the regional product shop open until 8:30 PM.
